This is a great website. It looks extremely nice and welcoming, has very crisp and clear pictures with consistent colour quality and gives a very professional feel. I found it easy to shop from with the different types of browser (eg. shop by occasion, by price, by style, by variety or by colour) clearly laid out. Every aspect of it seems to just flow and click smoothly without too much effort at all. I give this website a score of 4.5/5 without any hesitation.

They do not have a specific section devoted to Mother's day flowers so I chose to look at what is available within their 'Thank You flowers'. You have 24 different options of floral arrangements to choose from with a starting price of £19.99 for its 'Eastern Promise', a bouquet made up of pink gerberas, lilies, alstromerias and pink gypsophilia. I'm sure it's 'Beautiful Smile' bouquet (filled with pink gerberas, alstromerias, pink daisy chrysanthemums and white roses) will bring a smile to any recipient's face, at only £29.99! Personally, I think its 'Berry Burst' at £44.99, a hand-tied bouquet, looks rather different and exotic with the combination of yellow roses, hypericum berries, red gerberas, leuchadendron and unusual spiky proteas.

There are many add-on options to choose from. Anything from vases (prices start at £9.99 to £18.99), bears (from £8.99), balloons (from £6.99), chocolates (from £9.99 to £18.49) to candles (from £9.99).

The normal delivery is next day which is included in the price. For specific timed slots additional prices will apply (from £3.99 and £4.99). All this provided your order is received by 8.00pm (a very extended time compared to other on-line florists!) the day before.

For messages, you will need to type your own.

I ordered the ‘One Love’ bouquet with yellow calla lilies and red roses for £34.99 on 22 Jan 08. This was delivered on 23 Jan 08 at 2pm by a Parcelforce delivery van.

The well-wrapped bouquet was stood up within a very sturdy box. It had extremely good protection from folded stiff cardboards inserted to prevent it from unnecessary movements. I received 3 burgundy leuchadendron, 3 yellow calla lilies, 3 red Grand Prix roses, 3 red hypericum berries, 1 solidago and 1 bupleurum.

The flowers were in very good condition although I noticed some minor leaf damage to the hypericum berries (similar to leaf burn). The message was printed onto a thick, postcard size, fold-over card with a lovely picture as cover.

I was kept fully informed of the progress of my order, receiving 3 text messages in total, one confirming receipt of my order, one for letting me know the order had been dispatched, and the last confirming the goods had been delivered.

I felt the attention to detail really paid off. The packaging had an inner core to it (shaped like a giant toblerone) which would ensure that even if the outer carton was damaged, there was a second layer of protection (Serenata were the only one to use this method). Even the flower instructions had been written in an entertaining and informative way.

Overall, I really like the bouquet very much. The display combination of flowers and colours exudes a touch of class and simple elegance. What I received matched the picture description as was advertised on the website and met my expectations as a customer. 3 days on, the display is still going strong, the roses giving a nice fragrance as I walk by. Well done!
