Bunches.co.uk Flower Review
Review of flower delivery from Bunches.co.uk
My first impression of the website is that it has many consistent, good quality pictures, giving it marks 4 out of 5.
It is easy to navigate and you could search to buy using price range, types of flowers or different occasions. Their ‘classic’ range of bouquets gives amazing good value with prices starting from only £9.99 whilst its 'Platinum Collection' is their superior range of hand-tied, luxury bouquets with prices up to £38.99 (inclusive of courier delivery).
An interesting (and useful!) feature for those of you who are not super-organised but want to send flowers to your beloved for the rest of the year, there is a fantastic gift at an impressive price of £199 (which works out to be only under £17 per bouquet, per month!).
Bunches also operate a loyalty scheme whereby every purchase is awarded with 'posy' points (5p equals 1 posy point). This is then redeemable against future purchases. For example, a purchase worth £9.99 will get you 100 posy points and that means 50p off the next order that you place. Clever!
Their Mother’s Day flowers section offers 14 different options with a starting price of only £9.99 for 10 stems of assorted colour single (standard) carnations, a classic favourite. There is also the long-lasting gift of a planted arrangement in a wicker basket for just £23.99 or the more elaborate 'Strawberries & Cream' bouquet at a very reasonable £29.99, filled with gerberas, Asiatic lilies, alstromerias, carnations, statice, chrysanthemums and other greenery. To ensure delivery for Mother's Day, their order deadline is 4pm Wednesday 27 February.
It’s very easy to choose the many add-on options eg. Mother's Day cards (£3.99), bears (from £4.99), chocolates (£4.50 or £8.99), candles (from £3.50), birthday cake (£3.99), balloons (from £9.99) and even additional gypsophilia (£1.99)!
Their normal delivery is via 1st class Royal Mail post whilst courier delivery incurs an extra charge (£4.95).
The message options is limited though ie. when type your own, I’ve found that it cannot translate apostrophe (‘) eg. I’m will type out as I/m.
On 22 Jan 08 I ordered its traditional 12 red roses bouquet at £29.99 (with free chocs).
The delivery arrived on 23 Jan 08 at 8.30am. The bouquet was stood up in a small plastic container (for keeping the stems fresh and moist) within a stand-up box.
I received 12 red roses and 2 stems of hard ruscus (greenery). The roses had very good strong stems and appeared to be very well conditioned. Once they were placed into a vase, they took up water very well and the petals blossomed even more.
The message card was not great, just printed off the computer on sticky-backed paper, peeled off and stuck on although I thought the hand written style font was a nice touch.
The small box of chocolates I thought is rather insignificant, albeit it is free. I don't think any of the customers would miss it too much even if it was not included as part of the offer. I suppose it is a nice marketing touch though.
Overall, I am very impressed with the high quality roses as 3 days on, they still look good and healthy (because roses are sometimes notoriously difficult to sustain). I will be happy to re-order or recommend them to friends.
